The third edition of Association of Touring & Adventure Suppliers (ATAS) Conference concluded in Manchester, the United Kingdom through 18 and 19 of September 2019. Nepal Tourism Board actively participated at the conference and promoted Nepal which saw more than 350 travel delegates.
The event took place at The Point at Manchester’s Old Trafford, close to the stadium of Manchester United, on September 18 and 19. It was comprised of receptions, full day conference, trade fair, gala dinner and awards ceremony.
Mr. Kashi Raj Bhandari, Senior Director of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) in a presentation showcased the adventure tourism attractions of Nepal in front of nearly 200 trade visitors and media. Mr. Bhandari appreciated the contributions of British mountaineers and pioneers of trekking and wildlife tourism in Nepal and urged the British people to visit Nepal during Visit Nepal Year 2020 and enjoy the lifetime experiences as Nepal will unfold its unique and special features through a series of events and activities during the campaign.
Glimpses of natural and cultural endowments were highlighted through a video made by NTB during a reception event which was hosted by Nepal Tourism Board. Mr. Bhandari appraised the British delegates on the new initiatives such as accessible tourism and best practices on sustainable tourism and conservations of ecosystem and wildlife.
The popular TV presenter and singer Alad Jones and popular Hollywood actress Claire Sweeneya along with world renowned travel agents, tour operators and suppliers were present at the conference.
The ATAS Conference is now firmly established in the travel trade calendar, and this 2019 event is even bigger and better showcase of a sector which continues to grow in importance for travel agents, suppliers and mainly the visitors.
In its bid to continue to promote tourism through new trend and update the along with travel fairs and sales mission NTB has actively participated in the event. Nepal stand received more than 200 major consolidators.
