Kathmandu | Nepal-China Media Forum is happy to inform you that we are going to organize ‘Amazing Yunnan: Shangri-La Cultural Exchange Launching Ceremony’ in Kathmandu on November 20, 2020. This year marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and the People’s Republic of China. Not long ago, the heads of state of the two countries exchanged congratulatory telegrams and put forward suggestions and expectations for further consolidating and developing Sino-Nepalese friendship and comprehensively enhancing the strategic cooperative partnership. Our effort is to strengthen our bilateral relations for the best of both countries and people.

The Himalayas, which lie across central Asia, closely connects Nepal with Yunnan. Yunnan, which is working to build a “radiation center for South Asia and Southeast Asia”, will shake hands with Nepal over the Himalayas through this cultural exchange event.

Under the guidance of the Information Office of the State Council, sponsored by the Propaganda Department of the Yunnan Provincial CPC Committee, the Propaganda Department of the Diqing State Committee, Nepal-China Media Forum, co-organized by China Tibet Bookstore and hosted by the Yunnan Branch of the China News Agency, the cultural exchange “Amazing Yunnan: Shangri-La Cultural Exchange Launching Ceremony, Nepal ” cultural communication exhibition, which entered Kathmandu will be held at 1:45 p.m. on November 20, 2020, at hotel Everest, Naya Baneshwor, Kathmandu, Nepal.

The photo exhibition titled “Amazing Yunnan • Shangri-La Cultural Exchange Photo Exhibition Ceremony” will continue for a week-long. We have carefully selected outstanding photographic works, handicrafts, and non-legacy displays that showcase Shangri-La’s beautiful scenery and national characteristics, so that the most influential people in Nepal can ‘enjoy’ the beauty of Shangri-La, at the same time. Through the live video broadcast of the two countries and three places at the opening ceremony to cherish the colorful Yunnan and Shangri-La brands, through the wide dissemination of multimedia, more and more people will have a beautiful ‘thinking’ like and ‘going’ to the venue of the two countries respectively.

Due to the epidemic, the launch ceremony will innovate for the first time to connect the two countries and three places through live broadcast and video links (Nepal venue, Kunming venue, Yunnan Province, China, and Diqing external scene, Yunnan Province, China). Rt. Hon. Mr. Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, Chairman of the National Assembly and Hon. Mr. Yogesh Bhattarai, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation have kindly consented to be the chief guest and special guest respectively in the event.

Mr. Zhao Jin, a member of the Standing Committee of the Yunnan Provincial CPC Committee and Minister of the propaganda Department will speak at the event. Qi Jianxin, governor of Diqing Prefecture will introduce Shangri-La via video and send warm wishes to everyone. Diqing County external scene reporter will show the daily happy life of Tibetan compatriots through Tibetan family visits.

The launch ceremony will organically integrate the Nepalese venue with the Kunming venue and Shangri-La live broadcast through video connections and broadcast the video through the chinanews.com, Nepal Television, and other networks and various social media. Journalists are cordially invited to visit the launch ceremony on the 20th.
