A year ago from today on March 12, 2018, US Bangla Airlines Flight 211 carrying 33 Nepali passengers, 32 from Bangladesh, one from China and one from Maldives crashed while landing and burst into flames.

According to what investigators wrote on reports, the pilot was going through mental disturbance throughout the flight; he was crying and stressed and repeatedly using abusive languages which soon led to a deadly mishap. Captain Abid Sultan was going through tremendous personal stress and anxiety and took a series of erroneous decision.

A senior neurosurgeon and 13 new surgeons from Nepal lost their life in this incident and today on their first death anniversary, we request all doctors, students, family of victims and ordinary people get involved in the lamp lighting program to pray for the peace of the demised soul. This was one of the most tragic incidents in Nepal Aviation history. Allow us to express our deep sympathy to the victim’s family.
