Nepal Sales Mission In Europe, 2019 Concludes Successfully


The Nepal Sales Mission in Europe 2019 concludes successfully with fruitful networking sessions of Nepali inbound tour operators with European outbound tour operators and travel media at Warsaw, Vienna and Munich. The Sales Mission was organized by the Nepal Tourism Board with participation of two leading inbound tour operators from Nepal namely: The Explore Nepal and Intertours Nepal. Since, Sales Mission is one of the effective ways to build new and existing relationships with the tourism industry professionals as it creates platform to meet, network and build relationships with focused group under one roof, NTB in its endeavor of promoting Nepal in international source markets has adopted Sales Mission as one of the major promotional instruments.

Speaking at the event organized in Munich on 31st May 2019, His Excellency, the ambassador of Nepal to Germany Mr. Ramesh Prasad Khanal said that the aim of the Sales Mission was to strengthen and broaden the business ties of Nepal with the travel trade fraternity of Europe. Nepal has always remained a must-see destination amidst the European travelers; and Adventure Tourism has been a central point for such attraction, he added. The Munich event was the third leg of Nepal Sales Mission in Europe 2019. Earlier the Sales Missions were organized in Warsaw and Vienna in 27th May and 29th May 2019 respectively.

In all the events, business networking sessions were conducted and destination presentations were made to the invitees showcasing the unique tourist attraction elements of Nepal. Mr. Diwakar Bickram Rana, Senior Manager from Nepal Tourism Board briefed the tour operators about various tourism activities that Nepal possesses which can help enable the outbound tour operators of Europe to sell Nepal as an individual tourism destination in itself.

The events also saw noteworthy presence of media personalities from various media houses who were appraised of Visit Nepal Year 2020 preparations made by Nepal Government to bring in 2 million tourists by the end of 2020. It is expected that the Sales Mission would lead towards a rise of good numbers in arrivals from the European markets in the coming year.

The Sales Mission in each city concluded with a lucky-draw draw for two Lifetime Experiences holiday package sponsored by NTB. The winners of each event were given away 6nights/7days Nepal tour packages.

International Tourist arrivals to Nepal grew by 24.77 percent in 2018 crossing the most awaited one million mark. This strong performance reflects positive trend and rising confidence of travellers to Nepal. Europe remains one of the top markets of this growth possessing 21% of market share in total arrivals. There was a growth of 23.3% in 2018 with 2,43,284 tourist arrivals from European Markets over 2017.
